our work > Audi Fall Collection
During its Fall Collection media event, Audi invited two groups of automotive journalists to drive the R8, S5 and RS4 near Washington, DC and San Francisco. During both events, ESI provided a state-of-the-art vehicle tracking system with two innovative solutions for media drive events: Via touch-screen kiosks and a large plasma display, Audi PR staff got critical information about their program vehicles, and journalists could select the exact car they needed to write their stories.
When the journalists arrived from the airport to the welcome hotel, they used a touch-screen display to check out the vehicle they wanted to drive, and to indicate who they wanted to drive with to the track the next day. A plasma display in the lobby showed which cars were available. At the next drive stop, journalists used the same system to select another car, with Audi’s PR staff limiting the selection to models the journalists had not yet driven.
ESI’s tracking system had many advantages. For journalists, it made the vehicle request and check-out process quick and easy. For Audi’s PR staff, it guaranteed that journalists drove all three cars, and it let journalists select the exact model they needed. It also let Audi PR staff know exactly where their cars were, who was in each car, and when each was expected to arrive at the next driver swap. All of this information was displayed on a large plasma screen, greatly improving access to information that benefited everyone at the event.
