our work > Jeep 4x4 Systems Event
To demonstrate the differences between Jeep's six available four-wheel drive systems, Chrysler Group invited a group of automotive journalists to the Pocono Mountains to drive and evaluate Jeep vehicles.
Journalists got hands-on experience driving vehicles over challenging surfaces, and Jeep 4x4 product engineers were on-site to explain the different 4x4 systems available on Jeep vehicles.
ESI helped manage overall logistics for the event — from delivering and detailing the vehicles, to organizing transportation, to designing and building the drive courses. We built a log-pile climb that illustrated approach and departure angles. An articulation demonstration showed how all four wheels spin at exactly the same speed, even when one tire has no contact with the ground. After the demonstrations, journalists drove on trails while exploring the off-road abilities of Commander, Grand Cherokee, Liberty and Wrangler.
Getting members of the automotive media to show up, take notice, ask questions and then go back to the office and write stories to spread the word is no easy task. It’s critical that every detail of an automotive event is seamless, which lets the journalist concentrate on one thing: driving the vehicle and learning something new. This, in turn, lets the PR professionals representing the brand concentrate on hosting their guests.
