press fleet management:
pdi inspection | service & maintenance | delivery & shipment | a digital connection

ESI’s Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) process ensures that all vehicles are perfect and that every vehicle delivered to a journalist or VIP is prepped to showroom quality.

Our detailers are an integral part of the inspection and evaluation process. They get up close and personal with the vehicle and inspect the carpet, paint, wheels, tires, steering wheel, seats and trunk.

Vehicles awaiting PDI are quarantined until:

+ Shipping documents are reviewed from the delivering trucking company to confirm vehicles are damage-free
+ All vehicles are inspected from tire to sunroof and headlight to taillight
+ The undercarriage is inspected
+ Fit and finish items are reviewed
+ Paint quality is assessed
+ All functions are cycled and tested

All vehicles receive a thorough road test to evaluate general drivability, buzz, squeaks and rattles, and noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). Communications and emergency systems are activated and tested, along with GPS navigation systems.

New vehicles are not rushed into service – they are scrutinized.

Once the initial inspection is complete, vehicle data is entered into our database and backup files are created for registrations, insurance, spare keys, key codes and other important documents.

Break-in miles are accumulated if necessary, and the vehicle is inspected again for final sign-off prior to media usage.
