Chrysler Hosts Challenger Short Lead Event in New York
July 21, 2008
ESI’s PR & Media Services staff leaves today for the 2009 Dodge Challenger short lead preview in New York. The event is one of the most highly anticipated programs for the media this summer, and with good reason – Challenger is one of the most highly anticipated cars to come out of Detroit in years.
Chrysler LLC invited 150 journalists – 120 from the U.S. and 30 from Canada – to travel to New York in five waves and drive Challenger.
Each three-day media program has journalists arriving in New York City on Day One for dinner with their Chrysler hosts. Day Two begins with a vehicle presentation at Liberty State Park, driving activities en route to lunch, and high-performance driving at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey with Ford Mustangs available for comparison. Afterwards, journalists return to New York for dinner at a Wolfgang Puck restaurant. Journalists depart on Day Three.
Seventeen ESI staff members led by James Gingell are responsible for all logistics, including transporting media and guest to and from the airport, staffing all program locations, and managing care, custody and control of all program and support vehicles.
For the event, Gingell arranged shuttle driving service provided by off-duty NYPD officers and the ESI New Jersey staff.
